venir + de + an infinitive means “to have just done something”
Je viens de manger = I just ate.
Nous venons d’écouter une nouvelle chanson = We just listened to a new song
Remember your “de+definite article” contractions?
Je viens du stade – I am coming from the stadium (de + le stade = du)
Elle vient de la patinoire – She is coming from the ice skating rink (de + la patinoire = no change)
On vient de l’école – We are coming from school (de + l’école= no change)
Ils viennent des magasins – They are coming from the stores (de + les magasins = des)
