Salut! I created this website to both help people learn French, and to help them and French-speakers to use and find resources on modern French. This site has resources for language learning, as well as appropriate links to idiomatic expressions, slang, and colloquial speech. My goal is to accumulate educational resources to help students learn modern French. During my journey into teaching French, I will aim to present and explore these resources on this site. My language/travel/education background: I have studied French since I first could at school (8th grade), so it's been well over a decade. I went on a 2-week school-planned excursion to France after my junior year of high school and loved it!!! I knew I had to major in French so I could study abroad. I did have the delightful opportunity to live there for the whole academic year in college- in Angers 1st semester, and in Paris! the 2nd semester. I did an internship in an art studio where I even read stories to French children- in French, and painted with other French-speaking adults. So many great experiences! (I have some photos up from that trip) I love all the great information available on the internet and wanted to combine language learning resources with modern French- daily French news, French videos with modern French, and more- there's so much out there if you know where to look. Now that I am on my path as a professional educator, I want to share with students the difference in types of French- formal and informal, the evolution of Franglais and mixing in English words in the French language, and more. This site can be used both as a proper educational tool, and also as a supplement to help French-language learners learn about modern French used in France in the 21st century. My goal is also to emphasize spoken French in the classroom. Using online resources with real French- in songs, commercials, videos, and everywhere else on the internet can help students better understand French (and to help them have a better chance to understand it if they encounter native French speakers) Technology can wonderfully supplement a foreign language learning experience in a classroom (and is very necessary in today's society). There are hundreds of reasons to learn French! I also want to share some of the incredible and diverse online language learning resources to facilitate learning a foreign language. I would love any resources or input you would care to give me. Please feel free to share any resources or make any comments, merci. Merci pour visiter! -Madamoiselle Prof de Français |
